Description of the function

At the highest levels within Ivar Jacobson International's global consulting practice, the Principal and Senior Consultants are the key assets in delivering services to clients. ??Roles at both levels will be expected to be part of the client's project team and deliver the breadth of consulting, mentoring and training services directly to clients. Successful candidates will be steeped in the gravitas and technical experience that is vital for guiding client teams to new and better ways of working in software development. ??Although all consultants at IJI have similar responsibilities for technical delivery, Principals will be expected to take on more leadership roles - such as engagement management, involving the leadership of teams of consultants, managing clients, and ensuring the continued success of engagement within an account. ??A desire to work as a consultant, with all that lifestyle brings is essential - for example, on site face to face client engagements, travel, a flexible work pattern and challenging yet varied and rewarding assignments. ??
 
Requirements

Experience

• At the senior level, five years' minimum practical experience is needed.
• At principal level, the minimum is ten years' experience and prospective principals need to show experience in managing engagements and teams of consultants. ??

Skills

Deep experience in one or more of the following : ??

• Software process consultancy ?
• Unified Process ?
• Agile Methodology ?
• Microsoft Visual Studio Team System or IBM Rational Toolset ?
• Iterative Project Management ?
• UML
• Managing large outsourced/offshored development project teams ??
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

At the higher levels candidates will have some element of demonstrable industry recognition as a thought leader in the field of software development process. All candidates should possess great communication skills and transmit energy and enthusiasm.

Labour conditions

• Location: Schiphol, The Netherlands.
• Salary: max. 100k depending on role and experience.
• International assignments possible if desired.
• Interim consultants and freelance assignments also possible.
