The organisation

Our client is one of the leading corporations in its industry (NYSE-listed, manufacturing speciality chemicals). Global Headquarter´s are in the USA (turnover is ca. USD 2 billion, round about 4.700 employees globally). Based in the prosperous Frankfurt/RheinMain-area we are now recruiting the HR Manager Germany (m/f) to accompany the further growth of the organization in Europe.

The position

The HR Manager manages a team of - at this time - 5 direct reports within HR and directly reports to the HR Director EMEA and the Board in Germany.

Tasks & responsibilities include:

  • Develops and administers company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements
  • Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs
  • Coordinates recruiting and retention strategies and succession planning process
  • Coordinates exit interview process and communication of findings to management
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues
  • Coordinates training programs, personal and career development, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity and benefit programs
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Coordinates employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs
  • Reviews employee relation's issues and recommends appropriate responses to management
  • Prepares and monitors human resources budget
  • Responsible for the relation and negotiations with Works Council
  • Implement Corporate policies in accordance with local legislation and culture
  • Negotiates contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops human resources staff; manages schedules and workflow
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor''s degree (B.A.) Master´s degree would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations
  • Experience in recruiting and staffing
  • Experience in Industrial environment, especially in USA multinational companies
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Good Business Understanding
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
