Senior Manager Finance

Our client is the EMEA region (appr. € 1 billion TO) of an US listed production/ lease/ rental/ sales company headquartered in the Schiphol region.

The position

The Senior Manager Finance is a people and business leader, responsible for leading a team and responsible for accounting and controlling tasks for all EMEA locations (11 countries). This is a key role in a fast growing, multinational business.

International travel appr. 10-15%.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Reporting to EMEA CFO and managing a team of appr. 10 FTE.
• Lead and hold responsibility for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process (USGAAP) ensuring deadlines and data integrity is met and collaborating with the US-based headquarters.
• Ensure all work product and processes are in compliance with legal and corporate rules and guidelines.
• Create a culture of employee development through effective performance feedback and ongoing development discussions, ensuring team is at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.
• Recognize and implement process improvement measures in a highly complex, international environment.
• Maintain the Company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and asset.
• Consult and interact as a business partner with the various business teams and senior management.
• Lead and coordinate the monthly balance sheet review meeting and required follow-up.
• Participate in the presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual results to senior management.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Responsible for tax filing and compliance with all local legislation.
• Manage and maintain the success of all internal and external audits and reporting.
• Ensure process and procedures are in place for SOx Compliance.
• Prepare, generate and maintain internal policies and procedures.
• Special projects and other duties as required.

Candidate profile

Given the criticality of this role as well as its international exposure to senior management of the organization an “A” player with extensive multinational experience is required.

The following elements are critical:

• 10-15 years experience in a multinational environment with exposure to US/UK type of reporting
• Fluent with English (any other European language is an added value)
• CPA/Certified Auditor or Master Accounting level preferred
• Previous accounting, controlling and audit experience
• Strong people leader experience, managing people in remote locations
• Effective at working and communicating in a cross-functional fast paced work environment
• Strong process skills to manage and improve complex processes
• Strong PC skills, especially with excel and powerpoint
• Knowledge of ERP systems
