Our client has an interesting and challenging opportunity for an exceptional finance professional with strong background in a manufacturing industry to join the local plant and head the local finance team.

Position

  • Support and manage plant accounting team and review accounting activities at the plant
  • Be an active member of the plant leadership team advising and counselling on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions and decisions, profitability improvement and asset utilization
  • Develop and motivate the plant finance team to take initiatives, support business decisions and drive results
  • Maintain and develop accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure adherence to management policies, standard accounting principles and practices as well as compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Lead monthly closing and forecasting as well as annual profit plan processes
  • Provide analysis and support of plant manufacturing and administrative activities to meet goals, commitments and timelines
  • Structure analyses and recommend actions for working capital management and cash flow improvement
  • Own the account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of plant general ledger and its supporting sub-systems
  • Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to region/division and corporate management approval
  • Control and coordinate the physical inventory process
  • Ensure compliance with local GAAP, statutory and fiscal requirements.
  • Lead ad hoc projects as assigned to support plant strategic goals and improvements

Profil

  • Business degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA/CMA/MBA preferred or equivalent local professional qualifications
  • strong professional experience and relevant manufacturing accounting experience preferably as a plant controller
  • Sound working knowledge of US and local GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and local statutory requirements
  • Knowledge & understanding of Corporate, region/division and plant reporting policies
  • Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports
  • Superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
  • Understanding of global business issues, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols and local customs and duty requirements
  • Ability to fluently speak both English and German is MANDATORY
