The organisation

Our client is an international automotive supplier.

The position

Secure the organisational units profitability and achievement of targets. Overall management responsibility for the respective function within the organisational unit. Provide leadership and coordination of financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Report to General Manager of the Business Unit and Group Controller
  • Direct and coordinate company financial closing, reporting, planning and budget management functions
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
  • Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies
  • Oversee daily operations of the external accounting service
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investments decisions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
  • Implement new economical procedures for cost recording, standard cost calculation, cost accounting related to business unit
  • Represent the company to internal and external financial audits, as well as tax audits. Provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • Review and approval of payments in collaboration with other signatories
  • Evaluation of Fixed Assets AR
  • Align cost charging of Automotive Shared Services
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate profile

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing related company
  • Master''s or Bachelor''s degree in accounting or business administration
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US-GAAP)
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting system
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality products within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Experience with standard ERP system, accounting software, consolidation of multi-entity organisation
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English
