Our client is the national sales company for Germany of an international car manufacturer in the premium car segment.

Position

  • Manage, train, develop, and motivate a staff up to 12 employees (of which two will be direct reporting managers) in the areas of Accounting and Financial Reporting / Planning.
  • Prepare and present the Company's budget to the Board members of the Group each Budget year.
  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting and reporting functions, including the development of the company's Long Range Corporate Plan.
  • Manage the controlling of the Budget throughout the year, liaising regularly with the other main Jaguar and Land Rover department Directors and acting as business advisor.
  • Manage the preparation of vehicle pricing proposals, in conjunction with the Marketing department, aimed to balance corporate profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements on a monthly basis / report statutory accounts to the parent company on a monthly basis.
  • Serve as the main contact for the external auditors and tax accountants in the completion of the yearly audit and tax preparations.
  • Manage and organize the yearly stock-take of the company's inventory.
  • Oversee Treasury functions and serve as the main contact for the Financial Institutions used by the company.
  • Manage and oversee smooth Systems (IT) development and integration with all operations within the German business and the parent company. Furthermore, ensure that systems are always in-line with technological advances within financial parameters.
  • Implementation of key processes to avoid financial risks and act as internal audit expert
  • Support/drive the Business Review Process

Profil

  • Key Skills/Experience/Education Required
  • Experience in automotive dealer business (wholesale and retail).
  • Time management and organisation skills required in order to meet aggressive reporting deadlines and other requests from the parent Company.
  • Previous experience of Financial Planning & Reporting, Accounting and books management, and familiarity with local Tax issues.
  • Communication skills, presentation skills, social skills and diplomacy
  • The ability to analyse and interpret information using appropriate software packages (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Familiarity with accounting applications and SAP
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, adaptability and tenacity.
  • Management experience and ability to challenge and motivate a Finance/Accounting team.
  • Excellent English Language skills!
  • Strong business Acumen
