The organisation
For our client - a leading international manufacturer – we are looking for an EMEA controller. In this position the EMEA controller is overall responsible for all accounting & compliance across the EMEA region. He or she will report to the CFO EMEA.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all US and local GAAP accounting in the EMEA region
- Provides overall leadership, guidance and direction to the reporting team as well as to the SSC leader
- Create efficient and compliant reporting to US under US GAAP requirements
- Roll out, maintenance and updating of Corporate Accounting Policies with the Global Controller
- Prepares and communicates the department performance goals and measurements
- Works together with SSC leader in creating an efficient and compliant EMEA SSC that supports the business as well as the countries
- Lead simplification & standardization efforts across EMEA on accounting & reporting
- Review & provides input for all US reporting requirements
- Ensures proper Tax & VAT compliance, Tax accounting and support Tax planning across EMEA regions
- Facilitates and lead acquisition integration efforts across the region
- Drive standardization of accounting systems and lead ERP implementations and upgrades from an accounting & reporting point of view
Candidate profile
- Masters degree in accounting (preference) or economics
- 10 years+ of finance experience with focus on accounting, reporting and controllership in EMEA and manufacturing environment
- Strong US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley experience required, IFRS experience is a plus
- Experience with lean accounting & best practices on closing & consolidation processes
- Excellent accounting and analytical skills. Experience with tax compliance & reporting
- Good ERP knowledge, experience with COGNOS is a plus
- Language requirements: English, Dutch and German

- Leading by example & strong people manager, experience with larger teams (30-50 people)
- Good communicator and strong “learning” and “teaching” skills
- Highly energetic
- Strong “cultural” awareness in EMEA and with US listed companies
- Performance driven personality & process oriented
Salary indication
The salary for this position is max. € 100.000 (benefits not included).
