The organisation

Our client is a leading international manufacturer of metal parts for the automotive. Due to the confidentiality of our client no further information will be disclosed at this moment.

The position

A matrix organization has been introduced over the past 3 years in order to support the growth plans of the company. Main focus areas of the matrix function are standardization, economies of scale, best practices / cross selling and removing non-added value activities.
Currently the organisation is reorganizing the finance function and for this function they are looking for a Director Finance & Control, with a focus on:

The group tax Strategy:

  • Refine the current strategy
  • Optimize tax planning (recent TP adjustments)
  • Minimize non compliance risks
  • Professionalize knowledge base of the organization with regard to: CIT, VAT, Wage Tax, other tax areas
  • Reorganize tax manuals

International reporting / International reporting standards:

  • Responsible for Consolidated Annual Report (IFRS)
  • Responsible for the Corporate Accounting Manual, updated towards the most recent IFRS standards
  • Responsible for the total reporting procedure / process including quality, accuracy and timeliness of information
  • Responsible for the statutory annual reports of the group and its subsidiaries

Budget and forecast:

  • In cooperation with group management accounting, manage, prepare and control the financial budgets, forecasts and business plan
  • In cooperation with group management accounting monitor and review performance against budget, forecast and business plan

Risk Control and Assessment

  • Responsible for the general group risk assessment and risk control

Procedures

  • In cooperation with group management accounting and the Cross Company Group Finance develop maintain and assess the finance procedures in compliance with Corporate Accounting Manual, Delegation of Authority, local legislation and Risk control Matrix

Insurance

  • Manage the Group Insurance policies and optimize total insurance strategy

Internal Audit

  • Based on all responsibilities aforementioned, develop profound internal audit programs to be used during the internal audits of all subsidiaries. Audits will be conducted by the Holding Finance Team)

Stakeholder Contacts

  • The Director Finance & Control will be the first line of contact towards: Tax authorities External auditors, Tax advisors, Insurance companies

General

  • The Director Finance & Control is responsible for the administration of all holding entities including, payroll (outsourced), expense reports, group functional budgets etc. He or she will directly manage a team of 3 people and indirectly manage the finance department (approximately 60 people)
  • M&A support; due to the growth the Director Finance & Control will assist the CFO in potential merger and acquisition processes.

Candidate profile

A hands-on professional with seasoned experience in internal corporate accounting, preferably in a production environment. The candidate has experience in managing large teams and is leading by example. The company is a fast growing organization, which means that it’s management should be flexible and used to changes. The finance function on group level has to be professionalized compared to its current status in the upcoming 2 years. Combining this with the growth strategy, a Director Finance & Control will face some challenges and should be ready for this.

  • Seasoned experience in internal corporate accounting, in a production environment (preferably Automotive)
  • University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an international finance position, dealing with different cultures, especially in-depth knowledge of the Chinese Culture desired
  • Preferably a big 4 accounting background in beginning of career
  • Experience with managing large teams
  • Experience with IFRS, Tax and auditing
  • Is able to become familiar with the rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
  • Experience with managing growth in a dynamic environment
  • Proven track record with respect to achieving set targets/goals
  • Practical mindset and very good analytical skills
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written) and well developed communication skills
  • Stress resistant and committed to meeting deadlines
  • Hands-on

Terms & conditions

Base salary indication € 130.000, 20% bonus. Company car, pension.
