Director Accounting Europe for American Manufacturing Company

The Organisation:

This international organisation is building up a SSC in Almere. There is a finance team in place that consist of many different nationalities and specialties. Even though most people are in place that does not mean that there is not a lot of building yet to do. We do expect a lot of changes still to come in the teams. The company also just implemented SAP which will have impact in this role. The company operates in more than 25 countries around the world.

The position:

You will be leading the European accounting organization in the various plants and in the Dutch entity. Your department will consist of 7 direct reports (6 plant controllers and 1 team leader SSC. Your responsibilities are:

• Financial reporting Internal and External, special attention needed at timelines and compliancy with Accounting Standards (US GAAP and local)
• Building and supporting the SSC. Further structure the Finance organization for the SSC. Give guidelines and advice to the plant controllers in Europe
• Improve processes such as closes to issue timely and accurate financial statements
• Improve the reporting packages
• Manage timely fillings of statutory accounts in Europe
• Coordinating the European audit process with the outside audit firm
• Standardizing processes across European Operations
• Solid, reliable standards of internal control.
• You will be reporting to the Corporate Controller 

Requirements:

• We require an absolute minimum degree Bachelors in Finance but have a strong preference for ACCA/CPA/ACA/RA title
• International SSC experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with SAP
• Excellent understanding and working experience with Accounting Principles
• Strong leadership skills, ability to coach and motivate teams
