Our client is a leading company with generations of experience. With a broad portfolio our client markets a complete line of products through different channels. For his German HQ he is looking for a qualified Chief Accounting (m/w) with leadership experience:

Position

• Manage D/A/CH Accounting department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities in the D/A/CH region that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company's future.
• Manage the activities of the D/A/CH Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budgets
• Manage the activities of the Accounting Department for the complete integration of all accounting issues and services including accurate and timely financial statements production and disclosure development
• Coordinate disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and payroll tax compliance
• Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, in each country of operations within the region, taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes
• Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value
• Respond to CFO D/A/CH as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial business needs
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, subsidiaries, and others in a courteous and professional manner
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
• Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
• Assist with and drive process for completion of all SOX related documentation for the European subsidiaries
• Any other tasks becoming necessary according to circumstance (cases of urgency, illness, holiday etc.), according to the instructions of the Employer
   

Profil

• Bachelor''s Degree, Diplom or other foreign equivalent in Accounting or Finance
• Recently qualified or finalist accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-5 years management accounting experience
• Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income tax and banking working knowledge
• Experience in both public and private sector preferred
• Excellent analytical skills are essential. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, strong interpersonal and excellent communications skills
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills are essential; Access skills are desirable
• Experience with SAP R/3 systems preferred
• Experience of having worked for an international organisation with responsibility for numerous European subsidiaries highly desired
• Understanding of and strong commitment to internal controls
• Understanding of statutory accounting in the business''s main areas versus US GAAP requirements
• Extensive experience and familiarity with US GAAP
• Good understanding of SOX requirements and controls
• Familiarity with dealing with SEC, 10-K and 10-Q support documentation for SEC reporting group in the States
• Previous experience of having worked for publicly traded US companies and experience with European statutory reporting requirements as well as with consolidations is preferred
• Business mindedness, process-focus and commitment to constant improvement highly desirable
• Must be fluent in English
