Based in the west of the Netherlands this privately-held company who wishes to remain so, is involved in several niche markets distributing goods and services worldwide. It is a leading multi-national with more than 45.000 employees and a turnover over of more than 11 bio Euro. Based on the key values of loyalty, integrity and trust there are seven business units who operate in a very decentralized way. In the relative young business unit of renewable energy (biomass), that is already active in the trading, production, distribution and contracting of heat through their newly acquired subsidiaries in the UK, NL and DACH countries there is a vacancy of Chief Financial Officer.

Job description

The CFO key responsibility is to work closely with the CEO in developing new investment opportunities and to increase shareholdings in the relevant subsidiaries. Over the next years the Business Unit needs to develop an international leading position in the selected biomass downstream markets.  Furthermore the CFO assumes overall responsibility for all matters relating to Finance and Accounting, Control and Reporting, General Administration, Legal, and Tax. A financial manager reporting to the CFO will give the necessary support. To the CFO’s in the subsidiaries the incumbent will provide guidance and support and ensures local implementation of the companies corporate compliance program. This senior position is a great opportunity for someone who aspires an international career in an entrepreneurial environment. 
 
Requirements

• A University background in Business Economics or Finance, preferably with RA/RC
• Minimum 10 years experience in Finance with at least 3 years in a CFO position
• International experience in project and/or corporate financing
• Knowledgeable about the energy sector or comparable industry
• Understands the business environment, is able to manoeuvre with confidence and authority
• M&A experiences in renewables is a big plus
• Proven management and leaderships qualities
• Good command of  English and German
