Job profile:
 
The Director Product Management leads the product management department of a Global Business Unit and is an active member of the Business Unit Management Team. He/She drives the product road map and has responsibility for a global product portfolio with products which are developed worldwide. He/She is responsible for translating customer demands into exciting new products with clear unique selling propositions and a superior user interface. This function requires a solid and proven track record in product management with a strong customer focus.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
Lead the Product Management department with approx. 25 employees in 4 locations worldwide;
Develop a sustaining position for the product portfolio over the product life cycle against established and new competitors;
Write target specifications; responsible for both business plans and product introduction plans;
Definition of product roadmaps in collaboration with Marketing and R&D.
 
Job requirements:
 
  • Master or University degree; 
  • Background in IP, open source and user interface;
  • Previous experience in product management for a global portfolio (B-B preferred);
  • Solid proven track record in product management in a high-tech organization (e.g. electronics/ IT hardware/ telecom hardware); 
  • Experience managing an international team; 
  • Technical background to facilitate discussions on product concepts with R&D; 
  • Experienced in the other elements of the marketing mix: pricing, distribution and promotion; 
  • Knowledge of English and preferably German; 
  • Prepared to travel frequently (up to 50%).
