General Manager (e-commerce company)

The organisation

Our client is an international trading company, which has specialized in lighting for more than 25 years. Through its e-commerce activities, it's currently selling in 20 countries worldwide to a wide range of customers (i.e. businesses, consumers, factories, schools and retail).

The position

In this position you will create, develop and oversee implementation of a business plan, budgets and efficient use of resources. You are responsible for achieving the revenue, profitability goals and overall company growth.

As General Manager, you manage 5 line managers for the following areas: Country Management, Customer Services, Online Marketing, Product Management and Web Development.

The General Manager reports to the CEO.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Responsible for the profits and losses
• Accountable to create, implement, and lead a optimal marketing strategy to realize company's sales growth
• Analyse data to assess customer service expectations and initiate improvements
• Plan, develop and maintain systems, procedures to achieve effective operations. Responsible for monitoring operational process
• You will introduce innovative solutions and strategies to improve efficiencies
• You maintain excellent relations with key suppliers. Develop and grow existing accounts to generate more revenue and expand cooperation
• Motivate and stimulate teamwork within the company department to reach productivity targets based on KPIs
• You are responsible for financial , product and service quality. Ensure that the company is in compliance with laws and regulations

Candidate profile

• You currently hold a (line) management position within an e-commerce related organisation and are ready to take the next step into general management
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in management, marketing or business related fields is required
• Your skill set includes managing, planning, diplomacy, analysing, evaluating, organising, checking & controlling
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English and Dutch
