The position

In this position you will be the business partner to the SVP Marketing to drive performance and act as a sounding board on strategic, functional and operational matters. This person is member of the Marketing leadership team and is the financial ‘right hand’ for the SVP Marketing.

You are expected to give guidance and support to the Marketing FP&A colleagues (both central and local) and ensure that, together with the Director Accounting Europe, all financial transactions and management information streams are executed and documented in accordance with procedures and US GAAP.

You are responsible for the central Marketing FP&A team, a team of approximately six persons responsible for realizing the objectives stated below. In this role you are part of the European Finance Leadership Team and part of the European Marketing Leadership team.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Partner with the (local) Marketing teams and assist in managing all aspects of the financial results
• Provide a comprehensive set of leading & lagging kpi’s that measures the performance in all Marketing area’s
• Partner with the Analytics team in promo effectiveness to optimize the marketing spend
• Support in vendor negotiations including vendor profitability analysis. Standardisation of vendor contracts
• Financially managing relevant projects (assortment expansion)
• Support investment decisions and initiates and tracks the capital expenditure approval process
• Manage the Marketing forecasting, budgeting and Long Range Planning processes
• Ensure that company mandated policies and procedures are implemented and followed by the (local) Marketing teams
• Develop & implement uniform (administrative) ways of working within the Marketing processes. Incl standardization of systems
• Ensure that all Marketing processes are SOX Compliant
• Managing the Marketing FP&A colleagues central and local

Candidate profile

• Education and experience: Bachelors/Masters level education in Business Economics/Accounting
• >15 year’s experience gained in a corporate environment. Strong preference for a candidate with a retail or BtoB background and a person that has been working in a large matrix organization
• Strong analytical skills: analyze complex information in an international environment
• Focus on delivering results. Self-starter and drive
• Developed Business acumen
• Ability to improve existing processes and implement procedures. Change manager
• Well-developed leadership skills particular in coaching and developing the team
• Strong organizer: delivers accurate, complete and in time
• Team player with strong communication and influencing skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and effective in a team oriented matrix management structure
• Intercultural awareness
• Able to prioritize effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and to reporting deadlines
• Proven ability to influence without authority
• Fluent in English, written and oral

Terms & conditions

The salary indication for this position is € 130.000 + bonus.
