The organisation

CreditAccess Asia NV is an industrial operator of credit institutions head-quartered in Amsterdam, active with three Micro Finance Institutions (“MFI”) subsidiaries in India, Indonesia and The Philippines, serving 1.5 million self-employed and micro-enterprises. By 2020 CreditAccess will be a publicly listed company delivering, through innovative solutions, financial services and cross-seller products to over 6+ million clients across five Asian countries, establishing a unique long term financial and business partnership with clients, matching their evolving needs.

The position

The Head Investor Relations position is a critical and highly visible leadership role at CreditAccess Asia. 

Based in Amstelveen and reporting directly to the Group CEO, the IR Head will work with the financial community to build and expand CreditAccess’ relationships with buy-side and sell-side investment analysts, shareholders and investment bankers. In this role you will work closely with the CEO, the CFO and the other members of the top leadership team to communicate the company’s strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives in a way that creates clarity, consistency and widespread understanding among investors and analysts. There will be a Communication Assistant supporting the IR Head. 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive, proactive investor relations program promoting the company’s vision and enhancing the company’s results and reputation among its constituencies including analysts, shareholders, employees and customers.
• Develop and implement a program to manage and expand the sell-side coverage and strengthen shareholders sense of ownership. 
• Create communication actions and tools including press releases, presentations and conference call scripts which effectively communicate company’s value creation proposition in an effort to maximize company’s long term valuation.
• Provide internal and external audiences with an accurate and timely view of CreditAccess’ business performance and prospects. This will be accomplished via among others analyst meetings, investor days, individual shareholder meetings, conference calls, videos, website content and other electronic means; including contact with institutions, regulators, rating agencies.
• Proactively anticipate and address investor and analyst issues. Respond to external requests for financial and strategic information in an accurate, appropriate and timely manner. Oversee maintenance of Company Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ).
• Understand, monitor and analyse financial models used by analysts to value/evaluate the company.
• Orientate and coordinate company’s financial reporting activities, including the annual report, quarterly business and financial reports, statements, shareholder materials and comprehensive Q/A backup.
• Serve as point of contact for the investment community, follow up after the earnings release, reports and conference calls.
• Serve as an advisor and strategic resource to the CEO, CFO and other senior leaders on issues involving the public distribution of financial and other material disclosures.
• Constantly gather intelligence and information in the marketplace. Inform, educate and coach the management regarding the dynamics of the investment and trading marketplaces and well as regulatory activities. Provide insight on the potential impact of these forces on the company’s perception and success.
• Understand the company’s shareholder mix and associated dynamics. Advise management regarding the impact of business strategies and initiatives on the shareholder base.
• Conduct competitive analysis, including the development of industry and peer company performance benchmarks. Continuously measure and update this information and utilize it to provide a relative performance framework for the investment community.
• Develop and manage company’s investor relations section of the website.
• Ensure that the financial press is well-informed on the company’s financial outlook, business strategy and performance expectations.

Candidate profile

This position requires high energy and a strong work ethic, outstanding communications and interpersonal skills. Apart from that, candidates are required to have:

• Substantial knowledge of the capital markets dynamics, the retail credit and/or microfinance business in India and/or Asia
• Relevant knowledge/skills in financial modelling and effective presentation development
• Exceptional oral and written communication in English and presentation skills (Italian is a plus)
• 3-5 years of hands-on managing investor relations of a listed company in a senior role and exposure to sell-side/buy-side analysts
• Willing to travel 50% of the time
• BA/BS by a highly rated University. MBA, CFA or CPA preferred

Candidates who possess the traits below will have preference. 

• Extended knowledge of the microfinance industry, the Indian financial sector and capital market (being by far our largest market / place of operations)
• Ability to quickly analyse, grasp and communicate financial and economic information about the company and the industry
• Able to frame an articulate response when situation is ambiguous and complex
• Willing to work hard consistently and taking great pride in delivering excellent work product
• Enjoys working with a team, able to hold their own in a fact-based discussion with other finance leaders
• An extent knowledge of India and South-East Asian countries

Compensation & benefits

CreditAccess offers full market compensation and benefits according to the position and job location (Amsterdam). The cash compensation package is made up of competitive base pay and a discretionary performance bonus.
