The position

European Merchant Services (EMS) is looking for a Director Product Management to further develop our Omnichannel Payments proposition.

In this position you will be directly involved in the creation and execution of the EMS strategy to successfully drive business innovation & growth in a highly competitive market.

Besides being a leader, you will be hands-on in growing and enhancing our product portfolio and brand. Within the company you’ll have a key role in building a culture of continuous improvement.

As Director and member of the Management Team, you will report directly to the General Manager.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead the Team of Product Managers and ensure the performance is in line with the business plan
  • Develop a comprehensive product roadmap, in close cooperation with stakeholders, with clear performance benchmarks towards product success and customer acquisition
  • Together with an enthusiastic team of Product professionals, show passion for innovation and ensure state-of-the-art solutions to our merchants
  • Drive understanding of market potential and merchant buying behavior. Translate these market trends into a compelling product vision and direction
  • Identify countries, markets and products that provide cost effective growth opportunities and run pilot programs that demonstrate performance beyond the competition
  • Think out of the box to drive growth and to bring solutions to market in line with new market segments
  • Champion strategic initiatives to capture new market opportunities
  • Own the P&L success of the product offering. Set targets for customer acquisition and establish a marketing budget across regions, channels and partners that will meet and exceed these goals
  • Create product plans to translate this vision into reality. Lead the organization through the entire product development cycle, from initial definition to launch, in close cooperation with project management
  • Drive excellent execution and collaboration with key suppliers, external stakeholders and internal departments within EMS
  • Act as a company spokesperson for products, both internally and externally

Candidate profile

  • A Master degree, MBA is preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in a leading Product Management position, including: P&L management, market research, product roadmap development, product launch, product lifecycle management and driving growth
  • Experience in a multi-national, B-to-B , IT-related company is essential, work experience within Payments is preferred
  • Good understanding of digital commerce and digital marketing
  • Experienced People Manager with excellent leadership, motivating, inspiring and coaching skills
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker; able to develop a strategy and vision and execute accordingly
  • Entrepreneurial with drive and energy to achieve desired results
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to quickly develop and manage both internal and external relationships
  • Well able to operate successfully in periods of rapid growth and change
  • Exemplary communication & presentation skills in Dutch and English
