For our client, an international Business and Technology Consultancy, we are recruiting Associate Consultants Business and Technology (Banking and Financial Services).

Our client provides and enhances a value proposition by helping clients tackle business problems. Seasoned consultants work closely with clients’ onsite to structure their problem, gather data and design solutions. Our client works with his clients conceptualizing and formulating solutions for their business-IT challenges from the rapidly evolving financial market space, changing customer behaviour and expectations, and ever increasing regulatory and compliance requirements. The position

Our client's consulting team is looking for senior associates (5-7 years experience). He or she works directly with senior IT managers at our Business and Financial Services clients, bringing industry best advice and detailed understanding of the pertinent issues in European financial services landscape. He or she works closely with delivery and sales teams in positioning our client's capabilities and offerings with the prospects.

The selected candidate must be able to bring a level of thought leadership in the engagements as well as sales process based on experience and understanding of European financial services market space.

He or she should be able to engage at different phases from sales / positioning, conceptualization, design, to realization and acceptance. Needless to say that the ideal candidate is responsible for the overall guiding of the team and for end deliverables. He or she knows how to focus on the analysis and design of the whole project and uses technical problem solving skills when necessary.

Candidate profile

The Ideal candidate should speak fluent German and English and has worked for 5 - 7 years as an analyst/consultant in information-technology service for systems integration (SI) companies or business-IT consulting firms servicing Banking and Financial services. The candidate understands the larger context of pan-European financial services harmonization and German Banking requirements, and thereof several industry-led initiatives and regulatory requirements. Candidate should have exposure to / understanding of some of the initiatives like SEPA, PSD, BaFin requirements, UCITS 4 / 5, Basel 2 / 3, Target 2, Target 2 Securities, etc.

The candidate should have exposure to typical business challenges like improving business-IT alignment, implementing / improving Straight Through Processing (STP), Business Process Re-engineering and alignment, Legacy modernization / IT platforms rationalization, channel solutions, launching new product and services, etc.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in business consulting and / or technology management in financial services. Experience in similar situations in financial industry, having led or part of teams that build target state operating model, business process re-engineering, IT blue print, roadmap, etc. would be a definite plus.

Prior experience in multi-cultural environment, onsite-offshore global service delivery models will be highly beneficial.

We are looking for suitable candidates across the financial services landscape serviced by our client with specific focus on the area where our client services German and other European financial services clients. You are an ideal candidate if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Retail / Mass Banking, emerging trends in mass banking products and service delivery
  • Corporate banking / channel Solutions for Corporate (wholesale clients)
  • Financial Messaging
  • Payments, in particular understanding of SEPA , PSD and Payment Services Providers
  • Preferred / Private banking including Private Wealth Management Solutions
  • Securities Back Office Operations – Clearing and Settlement in European financial Markets
  • Reference and Market Data
  • Trading – Retail and Institutional Brokerage

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Fluent in German and English, other European languages is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of business processes and data requirements in financial services
  • Awareness of standard software (commercially available products) in relevant industry / area of your specialization

  • Requires domestic and international travel
